Bolton White Residence
Property Description
The Bolton White House, also known as the Jose P. Laurel Building, was the official residence of the President of the Philippines during the Japanese occupation. Located in Manila, Philippines, the mansion was built in 1935 for Bolton White, the last American Governor-General of the Philippines. After the US retreated, the house was taken over by the Japanese and later by President Jose P. Laurel. Restored and converted into a museum, the Bolton White House showcases the history of the Philippines during World War II. Today, it serves as a testament to the country's tumultuous past and a reminder of its resilience.
